The project encompasses a multi-level renovation of the MC Mutual Copérnico Clinic, alongside the adaptation of two adjacent commercial premises to expand the center's medical services. These annexed spaces allowed for the strategic relocation of key areas, optimizing layouts and circulation patterns to achieve a highly functional facility tailored to contemporary shifts in healthcare delivery.
The primary intervention focuses on expanding the diagnostic imaging department with a new CT and MRI scanner, as well as completely reshaping the ground floor. This floor now integrates the emergency department and outpatient clinics, while the main entrance hall and reception have been expanded to provide more breathing room and streamline patient flows where emergencies, outpatient consultations, and general admissions converge.
The newly acquired premises on Carrer de Muntaner house the expanded diagnostic imaging department and the new MRI service. This space connects seamlessly to the main clinic at basement level -2, where the new CT scanner is located. This connection unifies the imaging department and significantly enhances accessibility, offering outpatient entry directly from the street or via the clinic’s internal elevators.
On the upper floors, the rehabilitation gym has been upgraded and the inpatient units have undergone a complete overhaul, updating patient rooms and bathrooms to ensure they are predominantly fully accessible.
Throughout the project, the selection of interior finishes and the thoughtful integration of both natural and artificial lighting have been meticulously designed to humanize the healthcare environment, fostering a sense of comfort and well-being.
